How to Upgrade

Locale X is a separate download, so you can upgrade at your own pace. During the public beta of Locale X, you’ll need to opt-in to download the app (it won’t show up on Google Play searching by app name).

When Locale X first runs, it will detect if Locale 6.4.0 is also installed and automatically convert your existing situations (there are a few minor differences). The Locale 6.4.0 background service will be stopped to prevent conflicts.

Locale X uses Android's runtime permissions framework, so you'll then be prompted to grant Locale X permissions based on the conditions and settings that you have configured.

Because Locale X is a separate app, you need to whitelist Locale X from any battery saver or memory cleaner that your device might have.

Finally, note that Locale X requires a subscription. For more information about this, please see our Subscription FAQ.
